Over the last couple years I have written environment chapters for almost 20 Lonely Planet travel guides. Titles in the past year have included Nova Scotia, Borneo, Tanzania, Mekong River, Thailand, Bangkok, Grand Canyon National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and Yosemite National Park.

My essays and articles have appeared in numerous national magazines and newspapers. Recent work includes writing a weekly “Field Guide” column for L.A. Times newspaper, a quarterly “Naturalist’s Almanac” column for California Wild magazine, and a monthly “Untamed Tiburon” column for The Ark newspaper (Marin County local).
